I build traditional and innovative solid wood furniture, cabinets, and doors
in my shop in West Brattleboro, Vermont. My work features handcrafted joinery
and handworked surfaces that are sensual, satisfying to the touch and to the
eye. I offer accountable craftsmanship; this means I take pride in my work,
and I will fix any problems that may arise.
My typical customer has an appreciation for fine craftsmanship,
and wants to make a long term investment. Often, my customers are
looking for a significant gift to give to a loved one.
I have been working wood in Vermont since 1989. I studied guitar
and lute building at Marlboro College with Gib Taylor. After graduating,
I worked as a timber framer and house carpenter. I now concentrate
on building fine, freestanding furniture in my own shop.
I live a mile away from my workshop with my wife Erica and young
son Jonas.
We raise sheep and chickens and garden extensively as well as work
toward
finishing our house and barns.
