This desk is inspired by the inlaid Federal furniture of the 1790's and early 1800's. However, the drawers are designed for the 21st century. The large central drawer has a fold-down front that reveals a keyboard or laptop computer. The two side drawers are sized to hold CD's. There are conduits to run cables descreetly. The desk pictured was built primarily by hand as a demonstration at the Brattleboro Farmers Market in 2004.
